When Steve Jobs stepped down as Apple’s CEO, I was hoping that it wasn’t because of his health and that I wouldn’t have to write this post for a very long time. But here we are, not even two months later, and I’m writing what I hoped wouldn’t be written for decades.
Rest in peace, Steve. Innovators like you are few and far between.

Shame an intelligent guy like Jobs waited nine months before getting surgery, opting instead for an alternate treatment consisting of a special diet.
I’ve heard conflicting testimony about how fast-moving pancreatic cancer tends to be, so it’s not certain that Jobs’ hesitation to undergo surgery sealed his fate. But it’s clear he didn’t do himself any favors by waiting.
