I love being a geek. I don’t pay attention to most celebrity gossip unless it’s epic in some form and unless I want to get to the details before everyone else does in order to satisfy my inner journalist. This is probably why I don’t read celebrity gossip blogs.
Today, however, someone caught Steve Jobs and Eric Schmidt outside a coffee shop, and the geek community went wild. Gizmodo’s comments turned into TMZ or Oh No They Didn’t for geeks. I could counter the gossip of the world around me with this, and it was beautiful. Sure, nobody knew who Eric Schmidt was (what kind of Internet do we live in, anyway?), but when I mentioned he was from Google and the history of the Apple/Google rivalry, they perked up.
Too bad Valleywag isn’t around anymore. They would eat this up.
