If you haven’t been keeping the tabs on the big trends in social media, there are sites that let you check in at various locations. Foursquare is one of the big ones. You earn badges for doing things like checking in at so many places, being in a place with a lot of people at once, checking in at many places in a short period, and being the mayor of a place (meaning you’ve checked in more often than anyone else). It’s a silly game. Wouldn’t the people who do care email or call or text you to find out?
Not if you’re trying to check in at the North Pole. There are two people trying to be the first to earn this badge, and competition is fierce, especially since one of the competitors is one of the youngest people to make the trek.
If both of them make it, who gets to be the mayor?
