Write your ideas down.
You probably already knew this, but write them down. Keep the paper and pen on you at all times. Keep them everywhere. You never know when an idea will turn up: on the toilet, when falling asleep, 30,000 feet above ground, in the emergency room.
This public service announcement is brought to you by someone who had a great idea while trying to fall asleep last night but didn’t write it down thanks to the attempt to fall asleep. Don’t fall victim to idea loss. Preserve your ideas today.

I agree! I usually have so many new ideas while I’m working on a completely different project and I always try to write them down. I get so frustrated when I come up with a good idea for a story and I forget to write it down.
I always seem to get my ideas while driving on the motorway. By the time I get to my destination, it has evapourated.
I had a great idea driving home last night, but it is somewhere on the hard shoulder after I ran it over.
