You may recall that one of my questions was chosen as part of the Reference Des description on the NaNoWriMo forums. “How much yarn does it take to knit a sweater for a giraffe?” As was expected someone started a thread to answer this question within hours, and someone answered the question. The thread immediately derailed into figuring out the best kind of sweater for Harold.
Today someone pointed out that someone has knitted a sweater for a giraffe. It’s a lovely sweater. It’s also on display at the Toronto zoo, giving me another reason to go there.
I did what any curious person would do. I emailed the maker of the sweater and asked her about it. There were still questions to be answered. How did she do it? How much yarn did it take? What needles did she use?
Now I await a reply. The email hasn’t bounced back, which is a good sign. Assuming I haven’t scared her off, we just may find out the answer.
