In case you haven’t noticed, it’s the twenty-seventh of February. According to my 2011 goal list, I was supposed to have a third draft of my pumpkin novel finished by the end of the day tomorrow.
This is unlikely to happen. I blame my own inertia over the past month. After my marathon to finish Janno, I was burned out and had no idea what was going to happen next. Surely a day or two would help me figure things out. Well, it didn’t. Nor did a third or a fourth. Next thing I knew, it’s the twenty-seventh and I still haven’t touched the novel.
Until today. Getting back into the novel was tough. Really tough. I have an idea of how it’s going to end, and that’ll probably change since the ending I have in mind isn’t as twisty as I’d like it to be. It’s unlikely to be finished tomorrow, but if it’s not, I’ll continue working on it into March along with planning the alternate worlds novel. Lesson learned: days off do not work well for me. This is something I should keep in mind.

Sushi, even if it isn’t finished yet, you are an inspiration to me!
