There’s a tree near my house that is probably still standing up by gravity. It’s tilted at an angle that makes me wonder how on earth it’s still standing, and I find myself wondering where it’ll fall if ever it falls down. If I lived in the taiga the tree would be a drunken tree, and there would probably be lots of other trees in this state nearby. But I live in a much more temperate area, and this is the only tree in a drunken state that I’ve seen nearby. So what could be causing a a tree to enter a drunken state in a temperate environment?
