It’s no secret that I love comic mashups. Garfield Minus Garfield, Peanuts minus the last panel, #kanyenewyorkertweets … Today I found Peanutweeter, a site that mashes up Peanuts comics and tweets. The result is hilarity. All of them are funny in some way, but I still have a soft spot for the one that brought me to the site: “Only in math problems can you buy 60 cantaloupes and no one asks what the hell is wrong with you.” Admit it, you wondered the same thing in your high school math classes. I know I did. I remember one problem involving maximizing ten pounds of different beans for price and nutritional value. How long was this hypothetical person going to eat that? Beans are inexpensive and tasty, and at least beans can be bought in bulk without worrying about them going bad, but the economic implications of that problem are worrying. At least it’s not cantaloupe.
